Viatcheslav Moshe Kantor is a public figure who was born in Russia. He currently holds a number of global leadership positions. Moshe Kantor has and still does participate in programs intended to bring people in the European countries together. He is the pioneer of the European Council on tolerance and reconciliation (ECTR). The society is made up of former heads of state across Europe and also Nobel Prize laureates who work towards promotion of understanding and peace. The ECTR aims at achieving its objectives by speaking out against social evils such as religious and social extremism, xenophobia and racial discrimination.
Serving as Leader of the Jewish Council
The European Jewish Council was created with the intention of looking after the interests of the Jewish people across Europe. Celebrations and memorials of events such as the Holocaust in which the Jewish people were involved is one of the ways through which this council hopes to achieve its goals. His tenure as president of the council spans over a period of 10 years since 2007.
Takes Part in the Nuclear Demobilization Efforts
Kantor pioneered and still leads the International Luxembourg Forum on Preventing Nuclear Catastrophe. This forum was formed with the sole purpose of atomic weapons demilitarization by countries around the world. The forum takes and organizes discussions on nuclear security, and drafts recommendations towards encouraging countries that are currently involved in nuclear arms race to consider disarmament as a viable option for global peace. Seeing that there is a real danger posed to the world by the presence of nuclear weapons, the forum negotiates with the governments to ensure that such do not fall into the wrong hands.
Promotion of Art
In addition to these achievements, Moshe Kantor created the Museum Of Avant-Garde Mastery in 2001 which is located in Moscow, Russia. The gallery is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of art, and it currently boasts of the most renowned pieces of the Russian avant-garde art of the 20th century. The museum, therefore, preserves art and consequently the history of the former USSR between 1890 and 1930.
